Tatajuba is located in the north-eastern Ceará, Brazil. From the airport of Fortaleza it takes about 5 hours to Tatajuba.
📍 Kite Spot: Ilha do Guajiru
ℹ️ Spot description
In Tatajuba the wind is usually side onshore and offers a flat water part at the first meters of the shore line which transforms into a wavy playground further in the water. It is important to know, that the spot changes a lot with the tide.
At low tide the distance from the pousadas and restaurants at the beachfront to the shore is about 5 minutes walking. It is advisable to pump the kite and store the remaining gear where the water can’t catch it at high tide. After setting up the gear, walking with the kite in the air to the shore is quite common.
At high tide the dry sand spots to pump and connect the lines is quite scarce, so think ahead.

A big part of the kitesurfing scene is mingleing at the Sunset Beach Restaurant. Wich turns into a beach club at sunset.

🧭 Arrival
Getting there is an adventure by itself already, because the normal roads end in Jericoacoara. After that a 4WD off-road car is needed to master roads in sometimes deep sand, cross shallow rivers and take wooden bridges.
It is possible to organize transfers between Jericoacoara and Tatajuba (~70€).
