Langebaan is a spacious lagoon with access to the sea. It offers flat water conditions and is therefore a favorite destination of many freestyle kite surfers. Its lovely town has a lot of accommodations and kite schools. So spending several days in Langebaan and taking some lessons is a good opportunity to catch the vibe and enhance kite surfing skills.
đ Kite Spot: Langebaan – Shark Bay
âšī¸ Spot description
Parking right next to the spot for free, plenty of space to set up, launch and land on the beach next to the kite area and a flat water lagoon which offers wide playground are only some reasons Langebaan – Shark Bay is a really convenient spot.

Your kite session can turn into a water safari. Besides jellyfish and seals it is also possible to encounter sand sharks in the lagoon. But don’t be scared these sharks are not dangerous. However, with that in mind body dragging to your board is a totally different experience.
With the mostly side shore conditions students from kite schools are entering upwind and leave the lagoon just before it merges with the ocean. Be respectful and keep distance to beginners – there is enough space for kiters of every level.
