Soma Bay is a spot approximately 45 mins drive south of Hurghada airport in Egypt. This area is also known for its underwater flora and fauna and very popular among divers. Hence, kiting in such a beautiful environment in the Red Sea is an unique experience.

ℹ️ Spot description

The spot offers a flat water lagoon, a bright blue deeper area and a reef.

The lagoon is used for lessons and serves as the path to the open water during high tide. Depending on the tide possible to stand in ankle- to knee-high water.

The deeper area has flat water and further upwind also some small waves. This surrounding is the safest to do some jumps without needing to worry what’s below.

The reef is really beautiful and you can see some turtles if you’re lucky. During high tide the area can be crossed without worrying to much. For the low tide sessions, red and green flags highlight the deepest and therefore safest path to cross it.
